Class Chalet (3)

Hello! As all of you know, the class chalet is on the
7th to 9th December 2009
at
Costa Sands (Downtown East)

So, our meeting time and place will be
2.30pm at Pasir Ris MRT

The BBQ will be held on the night of 8th december.
Unless you are going to sleep after the BBQ, we can go cycling like the other classes. Or do some other random stuff.
Bring whatever you want to bring!

For those who want to help out in the carrying of things such as more drinks and other things, pls meet at 12.30pm at Pasir Ris MRT.

P.S. this is voluntary, so i'm not forcing anyone :D

Class Chalet (2)

Hello 3-8. Jiawei here again.

Since End-Of-Year Examinations are officially over for us, i was thinking maybe it is time to start planning for our class chalet. So let's have a Chalet Committee whose job is to plan a class chalet for the class! Volunteers?

Maybe it could be something like a farewell party for mrs chew too.

Class Chalet (1)

Hello guys! For once u see that its not "Proto" who is blogging, but me (Jiawei)!

Introducing the new and updated and super-long leaders post column!

Okay. I just wanted to inform you all that if you all want to have a class chalet, its time to start planning and start booking. Cuz last year my class was late in booking and in the end 10-20 people had to squeeze in one small costa sands pasir ris resort.

Yeah. Not trying to force or psycho you guys. Just plain informing. Yeah but if there are no replies then i take it as a no loh.

We could even play paint/water bomb war games (again) !

August 9 Gathering?

Hello 3-8,

Proto here!

I'm just back from the NDP rehearsal at Marina Bay - well I didn't get a ticket but watched from outside Esplanade - and I found the performance, particularly the Chinook, Apache, and F16 flypasts really nice. Well, maybe I'm an aviation fan but then it was really exciting. Bet you've never seen 3 F16s fly past with full reheat (afterburners) ablaze in a purple jet trail over Marina Bay in the failing light of the evening right? The sound was deafening but really satisfying.

Of course the fireworks were beautiful, as usual - especially the last part where they "spammed" fireworks like mad which lit up the sky in brilliant streaks of golden light trails, creating an overall look like a golden tree canopy in the sky.

Anyways, here's the point - can we go as a class to Marina Bay on 9 August? I know it's in the middle of the MRs but then we all can do with a bit of a break during the period of intense studying ("mugging" as you guys call it).

So? What's your say? A 3-8 National Day gathering?

The Apaches flying past - they're very quiet!



Then of course, you have the ubiquitous flag-carrying Chinook - with 3 Apaches as escorts - though Apaches will be useless against air targets attacking the Chinook:


That's because the Apache is a ground-attack helicopter.



There were also 3 F16s flying past with full reheat - beautiful afterburner trail and deafening noise. A Chinook also flew just 2-3m above the water surface - causing it to "rain" about 100m away where I was having dinner.

Also, the Sec 2 class we are working with is the top Sec 2 class, Class 2-5.

So it's Class 3-8 with Class 2-5. Definitely a match made in heaven by higher management. What a "coincidence" to have the top Sec 3 class working with the top Sec 2 class for such an important event. Well, this just shows the faith they (whoever they are) have in us.

Let's do this well!

MYE Results

Yes, I know everyone's feeling down...especially after the terrible biology results and that bio teacher's (forgot what name liao) discouraging words. Don't get too disheartened though... Still got another half a year to go!

I certainly hope our class doesn't get smaller, if you know what I mean...

Also, do reconsider dropping bio, for all of you who were actually considering this option after hearing that "positive propaganda" from the bio teacher. Why do I say so? Please use your WAOI skills on that speech - you'll realise that there's more than meets the eye (or ear).

3. RESULTS AND DEPRESSION

Never thought I'd really witness the Great Depression after Physics script-checking

It was such a great disappointment I know

When I was reading through the report - for countless times I thought -
"I knew and studied this! Why didn't I just write it down?"

Too bad it's passed - only can say that we'll have to work harder for Term 3 people

And don't be too sad larh - we still got days for some more results leh

4. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY COOKIES

Shall be random again - Yu Fan of 3-9 made me this today

He said that it sucks - ok larh not say taste really nice but...

He made it as a birthday present so I still ate 1
The rest are eaten by others - no I'm not so bad to go around and give out -.-

5. FRIENDS AND CLIQUES IN THE CLASS

Yeah - I am starting to notice cliques forming in the class
As in - cliques that are no longer just a group of people from the same Sec 2 class anymore

But expand the cliques leh - add in more people cos more united

In 2-4'08 we had two major cliques - one the more "study" and the other the more "play"

The more study one is the one with the
Self-proclaimed b-ches from 3-7 called KONG and NG
And some more ppl from 3-8 like me, Jia Wei, Eugene Nah...

Eh wait - I dunno why I label it "study" when I'm not a mugger

Then the more "play" one - Keith, Darren, Clarence...

But good thing - the class was still united larh

Hope to see something like that in 3-8 soon
To me we sort of take a long time to "heat up" to one another - WHY?!

Oh ya - but don't give the cliques some kind of name like "3-8 CC" or "3-8 Club" cos it's SO WEIRD

6. CHANGING OF CLASSROOMS

In my very honest opinion - I don't see anything wrong with it
Yeah it might be quite inconvenient and don't really "feel at home"

But it's still fun right - like the raining air cons last time =)

7. THE CLASS IS GETTING REWARDS!

Yes! - food and ice coke thanks to Nicholas (even though he's not sponsoring)

Two days and it's like luck is doing me no good

And I'm like quite dumb somehow to rmbr all these temp numbers but nvm

Yeah - I enjoyed the courses (a little for some) but I really hope to take PURE HUMANS

I don't know why I never really liked techinal stuff
Just won't go into my head

Shall just extract a post of my blog updated a few minutes ago -

Quick post - something that happened on Thursday

I was in CO room for morning practice
Laughing at some stuff I drew on the board
When Jia Wei came down and told me something
And got me scrambling up the stairs as I tried putting on my tie

Was supposed to be taking class photo

Sad thing - they arranged us according to height
And Mrs Chew kept shifting me futher and further up the queue
Until I am supposedly standing in the first or second row already

Look at how all the tall people are behind me -

I never thought would shrunk this short at all lols

I'm so depressed larh...

Facing the camera that somehow no longer approves of us taking candid shots -

Stood on the stairs and sang the National Anthem
Quite funny a number of people who sang loud actually went out of tune

I never knew why I could smile naturally
